Expanded cinema performance — Marek Waldemar Pluciennik & Francesco Carella

Marek Waldemar Pluciennik and Francesco Carella premiere their new piece, Constellation Fall, for 35mm film, a modified hand-cranked projector, electronics and guitar pedals. The duo has worked together for the past three years, performing across Europe.

Francesco Carella began performing solo at 26, and in 1999, around the age of 30, founded Pasta Fissan. Since then he has worked across solo and collaborative projects, appearing at small festivals throughout Europe. His practice centres on the material research of sound, with the aim of transforming its very structure.

Marek Waldemar Pluciennik is a Polish-Canadian filmmaker and cinema artist based in Helsinki. Through installations and expanded cinema performances, he explores the material and ephemeral nature of film. His work is a meditative study of the outer limits of how film reproduces movement.
