Edgy Palates & Mike McCormick
A delicate and meticulous mix of subtle melodies and unexpected vocal sounds is gently and carefully captured on stage, created here and now by Dainora Aleksaitė, Ieva Parnarauskaitė, and Jūra Elena Šedytė, and transformed by Mike McCormick’s software system written in the SuperCollider programming language. Mike, like a modern alchemist, processes the music created by Edgy Palates by passing it through a matrix of modules. What was a natural and lively voice becomes something strangely and interestingly different.
Edgy Palates is a Lithuanian experimental vocal trio featuring composers Dainora Aleksaitė, Jūra Elena Šedytė, and Ieva Parnarauskaitė. Known for their bold approach to vocal expression, they create and perform original compositions and free improvisation programs. With a fearless dedication to experimentation, Edgy Palates continuously pushes the boundaries of vocal music, challenging traditions and redefining the power of the human voice.
Mike McCormick (he/him) is an artist and programmer working with sound, text, and visual media. Equally inspired by the constrained writing techniques of the Oulipo and the technomaterialism espoused by Xenofeminism, his work combines custom algorithms with human performers and autobiographical material to explore human intimacy, male vulnerability, and our relationship with emerging technologies. He grew up in Canada’s subarctic, lived nomadically for a decade, and has been based in Oslo since 2017.

Forces
Constantly mutating rhythms and sharp digital textures shape the sound of Forces. Forces is the electronic music project of Finnish interdisciplinary artist Joonas Siren. Different live-coding and processing techniques are used to make dense atomized swirls – electronic and chaotic abstract oceans of sound. Their music has been released on eight international labels like Biodiversità Records, mappa, Infinite Machine and Gin Platonic, and has also been played in DJ mixes by experimental producers like Aphex Twin and ZULI.
For the November concert Forces will prepare a special performance exploring concatenative synthesis with the programming language SuperCollider.

Koho/Koskenlahti
Koho/Koskenlahti is a Helsinki-based duo founded by J. Koho and Minna Koskenlahti in 2024. The duo is interested in undulating at the interfaces of music and sound, exploring the sonic possibilities inherent in conventional instruments and atypical sound sources, as well as looking for different ways to unleash the sonic potential hidden in them.
