20-vuotisjuhliaan viettävä Tender Wreckage on silloin tällöin satunnaisesti järjestetty reippaamman kokeellisen elektronimusiikin tapahtuma. Vuosien varrella tilaisuuksissa on vierallut useita alan huipputekijöitä, nimeltä voisi mainita ainakin sellaiset kuin Borbetomagus, Sewer Election, Altar of Flies ja Testicle Hazard. Merkkivuotta juhlistetaan 25.8. Vallilan Toisessa kerroksessa, jolloin paikalliseherkkujen ohella ohjelmassa ovat mukana alan legendat Evil Moisture ja Putrefier.

    Putrefier
Edellisen kerran vuonna 2000 Suomessa vieraillut, Jyväskylässä ja Mäntsälässä (!) ihastuttanut Putrefier julkaisi ensimmäisen kasettinsa “Beyond Scathing” vuonna 1986 omalla Birthbiter -kasettimerkillään. Läpi vuosikymmenten rauhalliseen tahtiin julkaisuja pukanneen Putrefierin tyyli on muovautunut varhaisvuosien kolkommista industrial -tunnelmista 90-luvun romuluiseen sähkömeluryöpyttelyyn ja edelleen analogisynteesin sekä elektroakustisen musiikin suuntaan. Viime vuosina Mark Durgan on usein esiintynyt ja tehnyt julkaisunsa syntymänimellään, mutta Helsingissä tullaan todistamaan mitä on Putrefier anno 2025.

    Musa Dwarf
Musa Dwarf esiintyi edellisen kerran Tender Wreckagessa lokakuussa 2021, kun kynnettiin melko syvällä korona-alhossa. Noista päivistä maailma on muuttunut, kaiken muun ohella kyseinen tapahtumapaikka (Pien Brewpub) on lopettanut, illan DJ on poistunut joukostamme…Mutta Musa Dwarf on täällä edelleen! Kuten on myös herra promoottorin tuolloin tusaama, toivottavati edelleenkin relevantti artistiluonnehdinta: Musa Dwarf on helsinkiläinen duo, jonka leppeästi pulppuileva musiikki levittelee lonkeroitaan suuntiin jos toisiinkin – venyviä kilkutuksia, pöllähteleviä sampleja ja aamumetroon torkahtaneita rytmintynkiä.

14.-19.8.25 / Seikka II Installation & Night of Arts & Fluxus performance

Seikka II Installation in Toinen Kerros 14-19th of August

Recorded fragments of poetry resonate from paper speakers. Sounds sprout from the silences—perhaps it is music…

The second part of Olli Moilanen’s interdisciplinary Seikka performance series brings a sculptural sound installation to the Runokuu (Poetry Moon) festival for one week. The speaker modules have been built by multidisciplinary artist Priss Niinikoski. The voices emerging from the speakers recite poetry by German poet Simone Goldschmidt-Lechner and Finnish poet Tuukka Pietarinen. The poetry was curated in collaboration with the Nuoren Voiman Liitto.

Olli Moilanen’s work is supported by the Kone Foundation, Priss Niinikoski’s work by the Arts Promotion Centre Finland, and the construction of the installation was supported with a materials grant from the Arts Promotion Centre Finland.

Installation is open in August as follows:
    Thu 14th 19-21
    Fri 15th 16-20
    Sat 16th 14-18
    Sun 17th 14-18
    Tue 19th 16-20

Poesia Night Club on Thursday the 14th at 19-21 in Toinen Kerros

As part of the installation and Poetry Moon festival opening event, Osuuskunta Poesia’s night club will feature performances by this autumn’s poets, Aki Salmela and Aura Siltala. The evening will also include a discussion with Erkka Filander about his new collection Siemenholvi, published in June.

In the same space, there will be a book exhibition dedicated to Erkka Filander’s Siemenholvi. The work is a monument to the printed word, its carefully crafted architecture guiding the reader through imagery of destruction and displacement that echoes Western cultural heritage, and the rituals and literature that arise from the need to remember. The book’s exceptional ambition is also reflected in its scale: the physical object is cut to the dimensions of classical codices (300x400mm), resembling a temple or a literary counterpart to the Svalbard Global Seed Vault. It is a means of preserving and remembering possibilities.

27.05.2025 / Äänen Lumo: Violent Shogun, Keränen

    Tuesday 27.05.
    Doors 18:30, Sound 19:00
    Price 5 – 10€

Summer starts (yes, it’s summer) with hissing, screeching and snarling with this double feature in Toinen kerros. Bringing together Violent Shogun from Bordeaux, France who has released exquisite murky material under many pseudonyms and Keränen, who has been dubbed (among other things) as “the unsung hero of 00’s Mego-crew” and a “Finnish noise legend”. Probably needless to say that the evening will be a treat for those who enjoy the noisier side of things.

Violent Shogun, from Bordeaux, France, has been creating his ambient noise since 2017, drawing influences as much from hissy tape murk or electronic waveforms as from the concrete chaos made by mishandled amplified objects. Many of these experimentations based on damaged drones, disintegrating tape loops, creaking metal or disrupted electronic feedback have since been captured on various tapes or CDs released by labels like Satatuhatta (Finland), Angst (Italy), Absurd Exposition (Canada), Buried In Slag And Debris (Canada).

Keränen has been making experimental electronic music since the late 1990s. His work focuses on rudimentary live electronics, feedback, and improvisation. He primarily modes are vivid harsh noise and minimal electronic drones. In addition to his solo projects, he is a member of Paal Nilssen-Love Large Unit, Testicle Hazard, Pymathon, The Truckfuckers, and Gentle Evil. His discography includes around three dozen releases, ranging from cryptic underground tapes to more acclaimed works, such as the “Bats in the Attic” CD, which was a critic’s pick in The Wire in 2010. Keränen has performed extensively around the world and has collaborated with artists like Lasse Marhaug, Florian Hecker, Incapacitants, and many others.

24.05.2025 / An Evening of Duos, Duojen ilta

    24.5.25

An Evening of Duos, Duojen ilta

”Duo means an ensemble consisting of two musicians.”

    Performers / Esiintyjät

    Huutarha

Huutarhan improvisatorinen musiikki on akustista ambientia todellisen ja kuvitellun välimaastossa. Kontrabasson ja viulun sävelet eriytyvät ja yhdistyvät yhtyeen musiikin soljuessa pysähtyneessä hetkessä. Essi Hirvonen, kontrabasso. Miio Holopainen, viulut https://www.youtube.com/@huutarha

    Improvertebrate

Improvertebrate on Sulo Kolehmaisen ja Taneli Viitahuhdan harvakseen keikkaileva yhteenliittymä. Kaksikon musiikissa huomio kiinnitetään rankaan. Improvisaatiota kannatteleva, kevyt mutta liikkuvainen tukirakenne syntyy modulaarisen syntetisaattorin äkkiväärän äänipaletin ja jazz-taakkansa alla kamppailevan saksofonin yhteispelistä.

    Koho/Koskenlahti

Koho/Koskenlahti on laaja-alaisesti äänen parissa työskentelevän J. Kohon ja perkussionisti Minna Koskenlahden muodostama duo. Duon kiinnostuksen kohteina on tutkiskella erilaisiin tiloihin, tavanomaisiin soittimiin ja epätyypillisiin äänilähteisiin säilöttyä soivaa potentiaalia ja etsiä erilaisia keinoja sen vapauttamiseksi.

    sensibili alle foglie

sensibili alle foglie, a duo specialised in intertwining between instruments, objects, and space. Their work seeks the presence of sound and its path through repetition towards absence, the path of becoming hemmed in between the imagined and the real: a lead into the otherness of listening. The duo will interpret Circular Music No. 6 by the Swiss composer Jürg Frey.

“When They denied motion, He, as everyone knows, came forward in protest, actually came forward, because He did not say a word, but simply walked back and forth a few times, with which gesture He believed he had sufficiently refuted Their position. ” From: Soren Kierkegaard. “Repetition and Philosophical Crumbs”, 1843.
